Currently, the city is home to approximately 1.6 million people. The unemployment rate continues to be very low, despite the consistent rate of growth.

Another advantage to living in the desert is the proximity to other places. You can drive an hour or less in any direction from Las Vegas and find serenity in nature. A fun river vacation is just 90 miles south at the popular summer spot Laughlin, and the beaches, theme parks and culture of southern California are only a few hours away. Air travel is also a snap. But take it from 1.6 million happy residents, once you hang your hat in Vegas, you’ll be hard pressed to find a reason to leave.
